We definately live in different worlds regarding driving. In addition to my riding I drive a service truck 25-30k miles per year. In the last 10 years I have driven over 275k miles between two trucks for the company I work for.

Yes, a filter of some sort will allow the system to still work. I went as far as to disable the system by removing the hoses and plugging the transfer passages inside the valve cover. I then covered the hose connectors on the valve cover with a rubber cap.

The fuel line is 5/16" (8mm) ID
