VA/NC Blue Ridge Parkway

Spent a couple of days on the BRP in VA near the NC border. It's not as mountainous there, the elevations aren't quite as high as further South, so the parkway itself is more gentle sweeping curves. Nice and relaxing, if that's what you like, with lots of rolling hills and meadows, nice views and sprinkled with overlooks:



There's a great motorcycle campground, http://www.willvillebikecamp.com/, that was bike exclusive. Tent spaces, cabins and a bunkhouse.



Mabry Mill is nearby, the most photographed spot on the parkway:



Mt. Airy, NC is about 45 min ride from Willville, Andy Griffiths hometown and the inspiration for the TV show:
