I have finally made some progress on this much delayed project. I rebuilt the forks with pretty much all new parts. New tubes, springs, bushings, seals, etc. I added some fork gaiters to protect the forks. They are mostly hidden by the body work so they won't be very noticeable when she's all back together again.

Believe it or not this is an improvement. Prior to today the front forks were in pieces on my floor for about the past year. Thankfully I still had all the bits that get reused and was able to figure out how to put it back together again. I intend to have her roadworthy by end of April.
My (incomplete) to-do list, roughly in order of importance.
-New brake/clutch hoses
-New plugs & wires
-New brake pads
-Fix oil leaks in valve covers.
-Replace all coolant hoses
-Replace all fuel hoses and fuel filter
-Rebuild fuel petcock
-Replace carb float needles
-Install Stebel Nautilus air horn
-Install VT1100 final drive
-Install luggage rack and trunk
--wire brake light for trunk
-Clean up and paint wheels
-New tires
-Repair plastic body panels.
-Figure out how to carry more than 4.2 gallons of gas.
-HID conversion?
